Founded in 2006, Sentry Wireless is a multi award winning software company that develops mobile security solutions. Sentry Wireless has developed and patented the world's first firewall for mobile phones via the SIM card.

Its unique platform means that the company has been able to develop multiple applications for its technology outside of the core SpamGuard application, including child safety (Kidsafe) and corporate call expenditure.

SMS Spam describes a number of different types of unwanted SMS text messages that are used for advertising, Phishing (Fake Banking Sites), Premium Call Numbers, and Hoax Threats. It is already a major problem for mobile phone subscribers and operators in many areas globally, including Asia, Middle East, India and America. Most subscribers in China and India are already receiving 10-25 SMS spam messages per day and security solutions for this market are expected to be worth a US$1bn in 2011.

Recent evolutionary trends in the use of the mobile phone mean that it is now the ubiquitous device of choice by consumers, and its popularity and functionality continues to grow. Just as every PC running MS Windows has a built in firewall, Sentry Wireless believes there will be a Sentry Wireless firewall on every SIM card and phone in the future.
